Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Full Disk Access, and turn on Boss Cleanup. Without it, Boss Cleanup skips folders macOS protects, such as Mail and Safari data.

Undoing a cleanup
Personal files go to the Trash. Click Undo in the message that appears after cleaning, or drag items back from the Trash. Caches and logs are rebuilt by your apps automatically.
Activating your license
Click Unlock Full Version, choose “I already have a license key”, and paste the key from your purchase email. Lost it? Email it to me again. Mac App Store purchases unlock automatically; use Restore Purchases on a new Mac.
Moving to a new Mac
Open Settings, then License, and choose Deactivate on this Mac. Then activate the same key on your new Mac. If the old Mac is gone, email us and we’ll free the seat.
Password requests
Removing system caches, changing system background items, and some maintenance tasks need your administrator password. macOS asks for it in its standard dialog; Boss Cleanup never sees it.
